UK/ Creative Banter – Edward Gordon Craig’s hidden puppets
14th October 2014, 7.30pm – limited places, booking essential
The Puppet Barge, Little Venice, London
Be part of a fascinating creative banter and see Edward Gordon Craig's beautiful puppets. As reported by Nenagh Watson in the August BrUNIMA newsletter,
GREN MIDDLETON and JULIET ROGERS (Movingstage) were given a collection of puppets once owned by maverick theatre designer/director EDWARD GORDON CRAIG. Thanks to a Creative Works London Researcher in Residence (RiR) award, Movingstage have been working with NENAGH WATSON (Researcher, hosted & supported by Royal Central School of Speech & Drama) who, through her RiR placement, has made contact with PAOLO PARMIGGIANI (Castello Dei Burattini Museo Giordano Ferrari Parma) and JOHN McCORMICK, author of “The Italian Puppet Theater – a history”. They will join MICHAEL DIXON of The British Puppet & Model Theatre Guild, in engaging in speculation as to the origin of the Craig puppets.
The evening is designed to elicit hidden stories & generally create an atmosphere of fascinating engagement and fun.
CAPACITY IS VERY LIMITED so it is very important that you BOOK your ticket via nenaghwatson@yahoo.com
The event is promoted and supported by RCSSD’s Centre of Research into Objects & Puppets in Performance (CROPP) and Moving Stage Marionettes, who would also like to thank Creativeworks London RiR Scheme.
