Horniman’s Curious Tea Party

The Horniman Museum & Gardens and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance are looking for interesting and innovative performances, acts or activity for a large-scale event in July 2014.

In Mr Horniman’s spirit of exploration, discovery and curious endeavour, we are looking for exciting and diverse artists, groups, companies and acts to express their interest in participating in the event.

We are looking for activity or performance which will complement our programming and help us produce a quirky, fun and innovative event, a vibrant weekend of Edwardian-inspired entertainment with a contemporary cross-arts twist. The Horniman’s Curious Tea Party is produced in partnership between the Horniman and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance.

Applicants may include: Short cabaret performances – Live music sets – Ragtime, Jazz or Music from the Edwardian era – Music hall – Circus – Magic acts – VENTRILOQUISTS – Specialist jugglers – Acts which display feats of strength (strongmen/strongwomen) – Fire eaters – Mime artists and impressionists – Trampoline acts – Animal acts: Talking dogs, flea circuses, and all manner of animals doing tricks – Stilt walkers –PUPPET ACTS, INCLUDING HUMAN PUPPETS AND LIVING DOLL ACTS – Comic musicians – SHADOW PUPPET ACTS This is not an exhaustive list.
