Wayang Kancil: The Mouse Deer Steals Cucumbers
KI LEDJAR SUBROTO / MAS NANANG (ANANTO WICAKSONO), of Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia. Wayang Kancil are Indonesian animal folk tales, with similar moral codes to Aesop’s Fables, which teach us how to live in harmony with nature. Early in the 20th Century they formed the basis for a new form of shadow puppetry, now sometimes performed in daylight with no screen. In this tale, hungry Kancil, the mouse deer goes in search of his supper.
And LES CONTES D’ASPHALDT of Belgium “The Unknown World of His Lordship Ottfriedt” Lord Ottfriedt, the last of the Dragon Keepers, shows his curious young dragon today’s unknown world. With fuming nostrils, flapping wings and scarily fire-spitting, who knows when and where the dragon will awake…
“Odil” – A dreamlike lady wanders around with a unique and wilful skeleton, seeking a final resting place somewhere betweenheavenandearth. www.lescontesdasphaldt.be
